Backup
Backup is a security copy of software or digital data, made to prevent the loss of information in case of hardware failure, human error, file corruption, or other accidents.
In the digital world, a file that exists in only one place is constantly at risk.
Therefore, there's a popular saying in the IT field that goes: "If your data doesn't exist in three physically separate places at the same time, you don't have a real backup!" This means that, for an important audio project, ideally you would have: The original copy on your work computer. A second copy on an external hard drive. A third copy in another location, such as a second external hard drive stored at a different address or in a cloud storage service (like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). Maintain regular backups and Verifying your DAW projects, sample libraries, and audio files is one of the most important practices for any professional or enthusiast of music production.bottom of page
