Click track
A Click (or Click Track) is an audible metronome pulse used to help musicians play in the correct time signature during a recording.
It's a rhythmic guide, usually sent to the musician's headphones, that marks the beats (BPM) of the music. Its use is fundamental in modern music production, as it ensures that the performance is recorded at a consistent tempo.
Recording with a click greatly facilitates the editing process, the recording of other instruments in layers (overdubs), and the use of MIDI-based rhythmic elements, such as electronic drums and sequencers, ensuring that everything is perfectly synchronized.
