Console
Console is another name for a Mixer.
It is the term often used to describe large mixing consoles, such as those found in professional recording studios and at large concerts.
The console is the "heart" of the audio system, serving as the central point where all microphone and instrument signals are combined, processed (with equalization, compression, etc.), volume balanced, and routed to the appropriate outputs (recording, speakers, monitors, etc.).
