Crash

Crash (or "freeze," "crash") is slang for a serious malfunction of a computer program.

It's when software stops working abruptly and unexpectedly.

A crash can manifest in several ways:

  • The program closes by itself.

  • The program window freezes and stops responding to clicks (freeze).

  • The entire computer freezes, requiring a restart.

When a program "crashes," any work that hasn't been saved since the last time is usually lost.

Lost. This is one of the reasons why saving your project frequently is a crucial habit in audio production.
