DARS

DARS stands for Digital Audio Reference Signal.

It is the master clock signal, defined by the AES11 standard, used to synchronize digital audio equipment.

Think of it as the "pulse" of the conductor of a digital orchestra.

It is a signal in AES/EBU (AES3) format that does not contain audio, only precise time information.

By connecting all your digital devices (interfaces, converters, etc.) to the same DARS signal, you ensure that they all operate in perfect synchronization, eliminating digital errors such as clicks and pops.
