De-Oxidising Compound

Deoxidizing Compound is a chemical substance specifically formulated to remove the oxide and corrosion layer that forms on metallic electrical contacts over time. Oxidation creates an insulating barrier on the metal, which prevents the correct flow of electrical current and causes signal failures, noise, or interruptions in audio equipment.

Unlike a common contact cleaner, which mainly serves to remove dust and grease, the deoxidizer acts chemically to dissolve the verdigris and rust accumulated on conductive surfaces. It is frequently used in the restoration of old equipment or equipment that has been exposed to moisture and sea air, being essential to recover the conductivity of severely affected connectors, switches, and potentiometers.
